Pretty Stock

I'm joining the party over at Courtney's blog today. Last night they had the most angelic stock flowers at the store that I could not resist putting in my basket. They are the loveliest shade of blush pink and their fragrance fills the air. I got just a little carried away photographing them.

The sun is shining outside today and all that snow we got is starting to melt. Yay! I have been spending time freshening up the house this morning. My husband is coming home this evening from a business trip to Utah. I am glad it worked out so he has the weekend to relax after his trip. I am far from a great housekeeper on a daily basis other than the very basics, but one thing I really enjoy doing is really tiding up my house when my hubby comes home from a trip. I have vacuumed, put every single stitch of the kids stuff back upstairs or organized away, my table tops are clutter free, ecetra.. I want him to feel relaxed and happy to be back home when he walks in the door. Can you imagine coming back from vacation and walking into a messy house? I know I would not be happy. :) When I had my first, I had him at 36.5 weeks, my water broke and I had to leave everything the way it was. With my second, my mom and sister cleaned for me and I came back to cleanliness; that felt so wonderful!

I have a bird feeding station that I tend to religiously every single morning, so my front yard has been a hub for birds. They fly in from the prairie in back. We get so many different birds and it is my little vice to sit with my morning coffee and watch them. Anyway, Merlin likes to watch the morning birds also. I caught him in a moment of pure feline predator excitement here... he is doing what I call the chittering noise. Don't you just love that sound? It is so cute. He looks a little scary in this picture, too. ;)

  3. Oh, I can just imagine how wonderful those flowers smell! Stock is one of my favorites. I left my phone number at the floral shop a few weeks ago and they're supposed to be calling me when they get some in...can't wait!

You're right! Our runners do look them same. I made mine though...if you can really call it that...I just bought burlap at the fabric store and frayed the edges. Merlin looks so funny! Our kitties make that chirping noise too :)

  5. Oh how I love that blush pink color, Lara! *sigh!* I'll have to pick some up the next time I get to the store, especially if they're so fragrant! :) Love that! We love feeding the birds, too, and are always so glad to see the bluebirds return!! :)
