I wanted to share some decorating for Easter I've done on my dining room sideboard. I like to keep things light, airy, simple, and sweet. I got the basket at Target, the decorative speckled eggs and ceramic bunny egg holder are from Pottery Barn, and the rest is vintage. If you would like to see some of my Easter decorating from previous years, you can see here and over here.
This year, I have started to collect vintage holiday postcards. I love working them into my decorating. I think they add that right amount of cuteness.
My husband's parents had the kids Saturday evening and all day on Sunday, so I was able to finish putting together their Easter baskets ahead of time. I can't wait to surprise them on Easter morning. :) I have such wonderful in laws that want to spend so much time with their grandchildren. It gave me and my husband a date night! We went to Panera Bread {big woo hoo} and then we stopped at the red box for a movie to take back home.
I have started working out daily now in order to lose some of my winter weight gain. I don't use a gym; I just do floor exercises at home and I have an ab lounger in the basement. Speaking of fitness, I wanted to share a blog that I have really been inspired by ~ Peak 313 Fitness. Clare shares lots of great videos and has plenty of wonderful ideas for healthy meals and snacks. Reading Peak 313 has given me that extra push I've been needing. ;) I've started eating rice cakes topped with fruit, agave nectar, and almond butter as healthy snacks now and love 'em.
There hasn't been any real wind of change here for spring yet and tomorrows the first day of spring. The only thing I've noticed is that the robin birds are out and about now. Other than that, no real spring like weather yet. This is the first season I am due to get my first peony blooms, so I am really excited for that and all the gardening I have planned. I can't wait!!

These are so pretty! I can't believe you've already put together yours kids' Easter baskets. That would be so dangerous for me...I can't buy candy until the last minute. I should check out that exercise site since I need to lose a few too. xo

Very beautiful... dreamy-like! My kids are in their 20's and I still give them all baskets. Some things are too much fun to let go!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to have such dear in-laws. That's how I want my kids to think about my hubby and me... especially when babies come.
Lara,
ReplyDeleteYour Easter decor is so pretty, love the blue and white speckled eggs! How fun that you had the chance to put the Easter gift baskets together this early...it's so exciting when the Easter bunny finally arrives, isn't it?! Looking forward to the pictures of your peonies in a few short weeks :)
Happy Spring!
Christy

ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful! I'd love to feature the middle photo on a Pottery Barn blog post. Check your inbox for an email I sent about it. Thanks! — Elka
