Nature's Lace

Almost as if overnight, Queen Anne's lace has sprouted all over the prairie. I am gently reminded that we are entering into late summer ~ a time of warm days with a cool nightfall, harvesting vegetables, visits to the forest and conservatory; with late summer festivals in between it all. This is the part of summer I love the most. The tail end.

I also get the urge to make new changes. A haircut booked for tomorrow. I'm going from long to a bob. I can't wait to feel the lightness and feel polished. Maybe I will get brave and share a picture or two of the new look. I just have this need right now to lighten everything up in all areas of my life. I know relaxation will follow.

  1. I love Queen Ann's lace.We have lots around here too.My daughter decided to pick some for me in a field by our home. When she brought it over they were full of red ants :-( .I kept shaking them off but they seemed to be multiplying LOL.I had to throw them back into the field.I just picked up a bunch with some other wild flowers at the farmers market.Yours look pretty in your blue ball jars!

    1. Thank you Anne. Yes, I had to pick off a few ants on these. Many little creatures we have here on the prairie. I love wild flowers from the farmer's market, too - such pretty bouquets.

  6. One of my all time favorites. Lucky for me they just grow in the ditches around my house:-) I took some photos in the blue glass jhars last year, but yours are so much better...amazing, actually:-)

Good luck with the haircut. I did that a couple years ago and then regretted it and couldn't wait for it to grow back..I'm so crazy that way and do it every once in a while. Hope you like yours better than I did:-)

  9. Two small of these flowers appeared in a pot here. I did a post about it a few days ago. So funny to see them here on your blog now too. And also funny to see how differently we photographed them.
    Bye,

  10. OMG, we're so similar in many odd ways! I actually picked some of these "weeds" off a side of a parking lot here in Toronto. My husband thought I was crazy pulling out these little flowers. I actually love the look and feel of these; they are truly pretty! So, I put my sidewalk pickings in a little mason jar and placed it in the middle of out dining table...they look so pretty there!
