Snow is covering the ground, but my mindset is spring right now.
Every year around this time, I buy a bunch of seed packets by Botanical Interests. I absolutely love the watercolor art on the seed packets. This is my stash so far. I need to place an order this week for the majority of what I have planned. I am planning on growing all sorts of interesting and colorful radishes, tomatoes, and more.
A little something is in the air though...
I heard the grackles and sparrows singing and building a nest outside my kitchen windows. Yes, the grackles and sparrows hang out together around here - they seem to possibly be competing over territory?
Hurry up Spring.
I can't wait to see you.

Oh I am in so need of Spring, I can't wait! The seed packs are so cute. I hope you are well and having a good week so far.

I'm addicted to the graphics on seed packets! so much color, fun, and promise, in one little envelope!
ReplyDeleteDue to our reno, I have not been able to have a garden in nearly two years. We sold our home (and well established herb garden) to our daughter, but hate to be a buttinsky so I have just looked longingly at books! I'm with you...this will be a new year with a new garden and I cannot wait!
ReplyDeleteOh! They are gonna be all those colors?? Lara, this is so peppy. I wish I had a garden but for now, I'll call in spring with some mint and coriander on my windowsill. Love your photographs!
ReplyDeleteThe carrot-watercolour is beautiful. I love every kind of botanical illustration. Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteThe hydrangeas had buds on them last week but a cold snap and poof. I hope the fairly mild winter continues.
ReplyDeleteI could smell something a bit different in the air this morning. Our blackbirds are making quite a din also. Those seed packets look good enough to eat!
ReplyDeleteHey you...been way to long! Hope your well,I can hardly wait for spring either....bring it on! x00x
ReplyDeleteThe snow is already gone and mother nature is wakeing up. I can't wait to see Spring either and keep buying tulips for my living room.
ReplyDeleteBest regards,
Jana
Oh, I hear you - roll on spring!
ReplyDeleteI am in agreement with you Lara! Hurry up spring!!
ReplyDeleteOh it sounds like you will have lots of tasty and healthy greens around!
I love your photos...it looks like spring already here!!
Love it!
Much love,

Hi there, I love this spring photo! I saw a book recently all about seed packet art, now I wish I would've gotten it They are really pretty to have around, even if you have a black thumb like I do. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking spring too, unfortunately it snowed last night :(
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful collection of images, Lara!
ReplyDeleteSo light and happy and cheery!
Love it!
XOXO,
Anne
I tried starting a mini garden a few years ago and it was a complete disaster, LOL. I'm thinking about starting a mini herb garden in my window sill pretty soon. I'm definitely in the same mood as you: Hurry up Spring!

Oh, I know! I am so happy today is a beautiful day for us...so far anyway! I am ready to open the windows, let me curtains blow in the breeze and hang clothes on the line! I love the smell of spring!

I usally can't wait for Spring to arrive, too... but it's harder this year with no garden to plan for... at least not yet. But, I still can't wait to see all of the beauty that seems to be everywhere you look once Spring has arrived. All of the trees are already blossoming here... so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe vegetable garden you're planning sounds wonderful, Lara, and your photos are lovely, as always, my friend! Love the new look of your blog, btw. : }

We have so little snow on the ground right now (but with more coming this weekend...ugh!), but the birds are definitely singing more in the morning and with it staying lighter longer in the evenings, it's beginning to feel like spring here, too, Lara! :) I've been eyeing my deck furniture in the barn....but it's just too early.....(sigh!)...

No snow on the ground here, but I'm really looking forward to spring and time in the garden.
