I think it is safe to say that I can put away the flip flops. We are having a gloomy, rainy, chilly autumn day here.
I got some pumpkins over the weekend, and put together a little bit of fall decorating. This year I am all about color! The more different pumpkin colors I can squeeze together makes me smile. Last year, I would've cringed at the thought of a (gasp) orange pumpkin. I was going through this all cool white everything thing. Now, I am loving warmth, blended with whites and creams, and rustic woods. I love the warm oak in my arched window panel.
Over the weekend, we had to go to Home Depot to purchase a new washing machine. Our old one finally met its end. I won't have it delivered until Thursday. We have a avalanche small mountain coming out the laundry room right now. And that's even after a Sunday afternoon laundromat trip. We ended up buying a HE top loader without the center agitator for a good deal. When we were buying the new machine, I saw these beautiful mums that included a cute little stand. I love it on my front porch. I like that all I will have to do next year is just add a new pot of mums.
I even trimmed a few and added them to these simple, chunky glass votive holders.
I am off to finish reading some library books, while wrapped in a warm throw.
Have a happy, blessed week everybody.

Mums and pumpkins are some of my favorite things about this season. I used to LOVE planting them with my grandma. I also cannot wait to go to the pumpkin patch.
ReplyDeleteSo BEAUTIFUL pictures <3
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous vibrant photos, Lara! It's been a cool 85 degrees here, and will warm up to the mid 90's again, we're beyond sick of the heat, however I suspect one more week and we'll feel the chill in the air. I love Fall, and the changing leaves are my very fave. The window frame is stunning, I have an old one in my home, and then one large one in my garage just waiting for a special spot to park inside. As always, you're blog is inspiring, tami
ReplyDeleteYour vignette is simply gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteWhat is it about those teeny weeny pumpkins that is so endearing? Even here in Southern Cal the leaves are changing and I am in need of some of those. I just love your displays. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteOkay, I have to admit I'm a little bit jealous of your beautiful arched window! I've been eyeing it in the Wisteria catalog for so long. I was just telling a friend the other day that I'm hoping to find an arched window while vintage shopping. It looks wonderful in your home and I love the pumpkin vignette beneath the window too.
ReplyDeleteoh gorgeous! im just not feeling the autumn spirit yet! I think I will once the leaves start changing colours ^_^

ReplyDeleteThanks! I make my blog headers & other photo collages using Picassa 3 - a free photo organizing/editing program. Once you get your photos on Picassa, there is an option at the top bar - CREATE. There you can put together a collage. It can be a little tricky at first with sizing, but it's easy once you get the hang of it.
Very, very pretty. I love cool, rainy days. But....I refuse to put my flip flops up! Lol
ReplyDeleteFound you at Farmhouse Friday.
Gasp, I love that window! What a lovely display for this time of year. Your photos are amazing!
ReplyDeletelovely new autumn banner. I've never cared for mums but I like how you thought to cut them and plop them in tiny motives. So sweet! Our garden is slowing down too but we have warmer weather than you so I am now planting lettuce, snow peas, and soon onions and carrots for our winter garden. I learned over 15 yrs ago that brocolli and cauliflower are difficult to grow. We've never been able to eat what they produce because of bugs etc. Same with celery but cabbage we were able to eat a few bundles. From our Summer garden we grow lots of different kinds of tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, peppers and zuchini because that is what works best for us and what we eat. I do enjoy growing eggplant because it is so pretty but noone will eat it! Same thing with herbs...I can grow thyme, lavender, rosemary, and mint easily. Everything else is more difficult. I did grow chamomile at our first home during my pregnant years and it was one of the most lovely plants I've seen. I need to try it here.
ReplyDeleteWow! That mum is gorgeous! Your photography is amazing, by the way. This is my first visit to your blog and I am smitten. Off to read more!
