The forsythia bushes are in full bloom around here right now.
I couldn't resist snapping a few photos to capture how pretty they are..
I love the way blooming branches look enhanced by the light of windows.
Straight out of camera and overexposed a pinch to show true color..

Edited using curves {sun aged} with a little bit of texture..
I bought the old milking pail from a farmer selling his wares at the flea market last summer; it's perfect to hold a bunch of freshly clipped forsythia branches.
I also have magnolia branches getting ready to pop open any day now, so I am sure they will be photographed in an upcoming post.
I have been working outside a lot - cleaning up the garden beds, extending beds and yesterday I cleaned & organized the whole garage. My husband was very impressed when he got home from work! I even shop vacuumed the floor in there and made myself a potting table out of our old baby changing table - all this while dealing with a head cold. When I get a cold, I tend to want to move around a lot rather than rest.. but maybe that is because it is so beautiful outside and the sun is shining!
I am linking up with..
over at her wonderful blog, A Rosy Note.

The sun does wonders for a cold, that is for sure! :-) I have one (it's mostly a bad cough now) and had it while I was in sunny California. The warm sun did wonders for me! I'm on vacation so it's hard to sit still, sick or not. Yesterday I tried to park myself on the couch with a movie but was up and down and running errands, finally finished the movie around 11 pm last night! ;-)
ReplyDeleteForsythia is so pretty...I realized I have one in our yard! Cut some branches to use in our shop space. Love yours in the bucket!!

Gorgeous! Isn't the bright yellow amazing? I planted one branch last year and it's coming up looking like a whole bush...I am so thrilled! :)
