Late Summer Blooms

I was surprised to find a couple late summer blooming flowers a few days ago - rose of sharon and morning glories. I think the colors are just lovely. I've been doing a lot of pre-fall garden clean up and also some daydreaming and plotting for next year. I want to look for a shabby old bistro table/chairs to sit in the garden and sip morning coffee and garden gaze.

I've been occupied finishing up my kitchen rack.. almost done! It's my flea market find of the year because of the price and size. I painted it in Pale Bloom by Valspar Lowe's paint. I'm going to hang it up this weekend.. I need the husband's help and I don't want to bug him when he's tired after a long days work on the weeknight.. you know how that goes. I can't wait to show you. I was reading comments on my last post and I realized I didn't say exactly what I was painting (oops).. it's the walls, but we'll see about the cabinets.

  5. The flowers look divine floating in their wooden bowl! Fit for a magazine cover, I'd say.

  6. Oh Lara,
It's so pretty, the blooms in that teak bowl. Great idea! Can't wait to see your kitchen rack and fully understand about the not asking on a week night. Saturdays and Sundays are chocked full here too with requests! Oh how I wish I could ship that bistro table from the flea market to you, you will find a perfect one there though, I just know it!
    Talk to you next week.

  8. Beautiful soft images Lara! I love morning glories but can't grow them by me because there is not enough sun. A farmhouse would be so fun to live in and fix up! Can't wait to see your kitchen rack!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  13. thank you Lara for the directing me to the blogs that can help with making a collage header. I did not know about Picasso...I sure wish I knew about it before my hubby downloaded photoshop. But he says he is going to help me figure out how to use it...so I may try to make a header on my photoshop. If I have no success then I will download Picasso.
